Graduation Makeup & OOTD

The 17th July saw me finally graduate from the University of Surrey with a 2:1 in English Literature. While my time at university had its ups and downs, I was really looking forward to dressing up and celebrating three years of hard work, and I thought you might be interested in seeing what I chose to wear and how I did my makeup.

I wanted to keep everything classic and simple so that it wouldn’t look dated in photographs in the years to come. I knew that it would be a long day, with plenty of pictures being taken, so my first step was to use Benefit Porefessional as my primer to keep my makeup in place. I then used my Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation in 2.0, a foundation I try to keep for special occasions. I concealed with my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in Cool Medium, and powdered with Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Transparent. I filled in my brows with Smashbox Brow Tech-To-Go in Brunette, and then moved onto my favourite bit – eyes!

I used the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Bronze as a base, then used my MAC shadow in Mythology all over the lid, with MAC Antiqued in the outer corner. To deepen this up a bit, I used Urban Decay eyeshadow in Roach through the crease. I wanted my lashes to stand out, so I used the MAC False Lash Extreme Black mascara.

I used my Smashbox Contour Kit to contour and bronze, and for blush I used my Bobbi Brown blush in Pale Pink. To complete the look, I used my Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Pink Quartz, something I really like.

For lipstick I decided to stick with something neutral, choosing my Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick in Olga, and teaming it with my Nars lipgloss in Turkish Delight - a new favourite combination.

Choosing something to wear was a lot harder, but eventually I settled on cream top with an embellished neckline from Warehouse, and a printed midi skirt from New Look. I added navy wedge heels from New Look for a bit of height, and my usual jewellery. I curled my hair, something I think shows off my cut and colour at its best.

So that was my graduation makeup and outfit – I hope you found this interesting!

Until next time,

Lexie
