August Favourites

With this week somehow seeing us move from August to September, I thought now would be the best time to share some of this month’s favourites with you. While I haven’t tried a great deal of new products, I’ve had a few new additions that I thought I’d share with you today.
My first favourite of the month is my YSL Black Opium perfume. I picked this up on my holiday in July, and I’ve been in love ever since. With base notes of vanilla, patchouli and cedarwood, heart notes of jasmine and coffee, and top notes of pink pepper and orange blossom, this perfume is a little different to what I usually wear. I think it’s a bit more grown up, rather than my other really sweet scents. I'm sure it'll become my signature scent this Autumn/Winter.

Another holiday purchase that I’ve been loving is the Smashbox Step-By-Step Contour Kit. I had been eyeing this up for ages, but couldn’t bring myself to buy it. But, on the plane home, they had the contour kit at a reduced priced and I figured if I didn’t buy it now, I never would. I’ve used it every day, and I love the look it gives. It’s the perfect colour for me, and I can create just the right amount of shadow. Definitely worth a look I think.

My final favourite for this month is the Mac Toledo Collection Ombré Blush in Kindergarten Red. Unfortunately this was limited edition, and is no longer available, but I managed to pick one up in my local The Cosmetic Company. I am so glad I managed to get my hands on this because the colour is unlike anything I’ve owned before. I will definitely continue to wear this into the autumn and winter – as I think it’s a shade that can be worn whatever the season!

So that’s my favourites from this month. What have you been loving throughout August?
Until next time,
Lexie
