Bloggers' Festival

If you follow me on Twitter, then you’ll probably know that this past weekend I attended the Bloggers’ Festival, organised by the lovely Scarlett. The event was held at the Conrad Hotel in the St James’ area of London, which is a beautiful venue, and the day itself was great fun!

Seeing as we would be travelling from Southampton to London, a few local bloggers – JessAnna and Sam – decided to make a day of it, and headed off to the capital nice and early. I was lucky enough to be invited by Jess for a makeover at Charlotte Tilbury in Selfridges (which I’ll talk you through next time), and then we headed off for a bit of a shop and a spot of lunch at Five Guys. This was a first for me, and my goodness do they do a good hotdog!

Once our appetites had been sated, we headed off for the Conrad, taking a stroll through the streets of London, with a spot of sightseeing and selfie taking along the way. When we arrived at the venue, we were greeted by the lovely Scarlett, and then we were free to wander. There were so many brands at the event, I was a little overcome by everything, but I soon got into it. It was a lovely opportunity to chat to some new bloggers, and meet some lovely brand representatives.

The first stand I found myself at was The Jewellery Box stand. We all got given a free box, which I couldn’t wait to open. All their stock was absolutely beautiful – so dainty and with various different designs and styles. I couldn’t stop looking at what they’d brought along with them, and I can tell that I’ll definitely be making a purchase from them soon.

The lovely ladies from The Perfume Shop were around to talk you through some of their new releases. They were also giving away free samples of the new Paco Rabanne perfume Olympia. I love minis, so this was great – they’re fabulous as handbag perfumes!

We popped along to Minimum Clothing, who brought a fabulous selection of clothes and accessories for us to have a look at. This monochrome, printed dress was my favourite item – it’s right up my street. Simply Be were also there, offering brochures and the opportunity to look at some of the Sprinkle of Glitter collection released by YouTube star Louise.

I had a chat with Toad Diaries and Small Man Media (who represent a variety of stationery brands). I’m a great lover of stationery, and I was completely in my element. I’ve been using the gorgeous gel pens I got from Small Man Media to help plan my blog posts (who doesn’t love a scented gel pen), and I think I’ll be picking up a Toad Diary to keep everything organised here at LifeLoveLexie.

After receiving an eyeliner brush from Nanshy in my #sotonmeetup goody bag, I was keen to see what else Nanshy had to offer. There was such a fab selection of brushes for us to look at, and I loved the white handled brushes.

It was lovely to meet the ladies from Bee Good, and to have a good chat about their products. I had seen them around for a while, but it was nice to find out what went into the products and to hear their recommendations. One thing I really want to try is their Raspberry and White Chocolate lip balm. As you can imagine, this smelt divine!

I had a lovely chat with the ladies from Bon Prix, another clothing range. They brought some wonderful items with them, and some gorgeous accessories. I was lucky enough to win a goody bag from the lovely Bon Prix team as well – with a cute woolly hat and some other blogger essentials. I can’t wait for the winter to arrive so I can wear this hat!

We received a glorious goody bag from Brodie and Stone, who brought selections of both skincare and haircare products. I can’t wait to try out my bits and see if I fall in love with any products – I’m sure I will. With three different hair oils, I’m sure I will find one that is fabulous.

We were spoiled by Exuviance skincare, and got to walk away with some full size products! I cannot wait to try out the Purifying Cleansing GelBlemish Treatment Gel, and the Hydrating Eye Complex - I’m really trying to cement a skincare routine I really love, and these products look like they could be amazing!

One of my favourite moments of the event was having the opportunity to chat to the team from Mode Media. They had some fabulous tips for bloggers, new and old, large and small. For a new blogger such as myself, this was really helpful. The notebook I picked up from them has become my blogging jotter for all new ideas, which I’m hoping will keep me motivated.

We were totally spoiled by Scarlett, as we all walked away with amazing “Blogging is thirsty work” canvas tote bags (which I cannot wait to use) filled with various goodies! That, plus all the bags we received from the generous brands, made us a funny sight for all the other people on the Tube. It certainly meant for an interesting journey home on the train for Anna and I. A post on the goody bags will be coming next week - so keep an eye out for that!
Once the event was over, JessAnnaSamMaddie and I headed over to Covent Garden to see their balloon display. It was spectacular! We finished the evening by heading over to Dirty Martini in Hanover Square for the #DMBloggerParty organised by the lovely Lauren, where we met AliceKaris and Tanya for a few cheeky cocktails before heading home. It was a truly amazing day – I had the best time. Thank you to the girls for making my day so fabulous, and thank you to Scarlett, especially, for organising such a great event.

Did you attend the Bloggers Festival? It was impossible to speak to everyone but I hope you had a great time!
Until next time,
