Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips

I can't seem to take a trip to London without stopping off in Selfridges. And when I wander the beauty hall of Selfridges, I seem to end up at Charlotte Tilbury, with a lipstick in hand. And last week was no different. The counter were celebrating the launch of Charlotte's new fragrance, but my attention was focused on the Hot Lips Collection, and I knew one would be coming home with me.

I'd seen the Hot Lips Collection online for weeks, and I had fallen in love with a few different shades. Before seeing them in person, I was sure Kim K.W. was the one for me - a peachy nude designed for Kim Kardashian-West, what more could I want? But the proof is in the swatch, and seeing it on my hand, I just didn't love it. I think it was too pale for me, and as much as I wanted it because of its Kardashian ties, I knew I wouldn't get anywhere near as much wear out of it as it deserved. So, after swatching the rest of the collection, I found my latest love - Liv It Up.

Described as the perfect ballet pink, I think Liv It Up would suit a variety of different skin tones. On my lips, it can look quite mauve, but I have seen it look more pink on other people. It's a creamy matte, which I love, and it looks lovely layered with lipgloss if you fancy a bit of shine. The formula of the lipstick makes it really long-wearing, but miraculously still comfortable. I've worn it throughout a dinner before, and although it had faded slightly, it hadn't gone patchy, and the colour was still visible on my lips. I was really impressed. I know this lipstick is going to get a lot of wear - it's already found it into my daily favourites. It's one of those fab versatile colours that looks great with a bold smokey eye, but just as good with a bit of winged liner. 10/10 for me!

Have you tried any of the Hot Lips lipsticks? Are there any I should try next?

Love Lexie
