#DareToMask Launch with The Body Shop

Last week, I was invited to The Body Shop at West Quay to celebrate the launch of their new collection of face masks. I love visiting The Body Shop for my bath time needs, but I rarely look at their skincare offerings. So when I had the chance to hear more about these face masks, and see what they had to offer, I gladly headed down for an evening of fun and face masks with the some of the lovely sotonbloggersAnna and Chloe.

On arrival, we were greeted by the lovely staff, and offered refreshments and snacks - what a lovely welcome. We were briefed about the running of the evening, and were then left to have a little snoop round the new releases.

We started our evening with skincare consultations with the lovely Lizzie, who took the time to sit each of us down and listen to our main concerns about our skin. All three of us have different skin types, so it was interesting to see what products she'd recommend for each skin type. Recently, I've been suffering with really oily, blemish prone skin, even more than usual - I think V Festival played havoc mainly with my skin. For this, Lizzie recommended the Tea Tree range of skincare, followed by the new Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask. I love charcoal masks, and they're great for drawing out all those nasty impurities that seem to love my face. It was really exfoliating as well as cleansing. I think I'll definitely need to pick this up soon. I also loved the look of the British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask - it looked like an essential for my skin when it's feeling dry and tight, so it's added to my wishlist.

As well as showing off the latest face masks, Lizzie also held a contouring masterclass with the new Shade Adjusting Drops. By adding the darker drops to the foundation, Lizzie created the perfect contour shade, and showed exactly where to apply, to create that "ideal" oval face shape. Contouring with anything other than my Smashbox Contour Palette has always been slightly terrifying, but after seeing Lizzie work with the Shade Adjusting Drops, I was surprised to see how easy it appeared. And she then showed us how to highlight in the same way. I was really impressed. I might have to take a step out of my comfort zone and give it a go - I mean how hard can it be?

I had a really lovely evening with The Body Shop, and walked away with a lovely goody bag with some skincare samples to try. I look forward to giving those a go, and hopefully finding some new favourites.

What are your favourite products from The Body Shop? Anything I should look out for?

Love Lexie
