February Favourites

Somehow we blinked and February was over! Just like that. And with the end of a month comes another favourites post. I missed January (birthday celebrations took over) so I've definitely got some new faves to share with you!

Let's start with beauty - my favourite thing! I was lucky enough to accumulate a few different beauty bits and pieces over Christmas and my birthday, and there's been some new releases that I had to try!

When your bestie buys you makeup for Christmas, you know it's got to be good. Ashleigh was lovely enough to gift me the Glossier Haloscope in Quartz. When I opened it, I instantly fell in love. The colour is gorgeous and is great for a day-to-day highlight. It's glowy without looking too much - more of that healthy glow you want. I'm loving playing around with different ways to use it, I'm contemplating ordering one of the other shades!

Just before Christmas, Bobbi Brown launched their new Luxe Eyeshadows in various shades and finishes. After much to-ing and fro-ing, I finally decided on my colour of choice - Melting Point. I spent a long time debating my purchase and now I would never look back! It's my perfect colour (you know me and a bronzey, golden shadow) and it's so versatile, another plus! It looks beautiful dusted over the lid with a brush, or packed on over other shadows using my finger.

When it comes to dry shampoo, I have always been a Batiste girl through and through. It always delivered, but sometimes it's time to try something a little different, and with all the dry shampoos popping up all over people's blogs, YouTube channels and Instagram feeds, I had plenty to choose from. I've umm-ed and ahh-ed about trying the Colab Dry Shampoo for a while, and when I was browsing the aisles of my local boots and spotted this Unicorn scent, I just had to pick it up. I mean, what Instagram-lover could see this pastel, unicorn covered packaging and leave it in the store? And when I got it home, I was really impressed by the gorgeous smell and it's ability to refresh your lack-lustre hair. On work days, sometimes I really need a good spritz of dry shampoo just to perk things up a bit and this fits the bill. I'm so pleased I gave it a go!

In the drugstore, I always find myself drawn to the L'Oreal counter - they never disappoint. Whether it's returning to an old faithful product or discovering a new release, L'Oreal is guaranteed to do me well. This month it was a new release - the L'Oreal Infaillable Foundation Stick. I've seen lots of different foundation sticks on the market, at a variety of price marks, but I'd always been put off. My skin can be both dry and oily - it changes from day to day - and I didn't think they'd work for me. But something convinced me to give it a go and I was pleasantly surprised! It's super smooth and easy to blend (I was expecting a much drier formula), the colour is just right and really well pigmented, and the coverage is insane. I am so, so impressed!

These Lovisa earrings have become an almost-permanent fixture since Christmas. I bought them for my Christmas party and fell in love with them. I'd seen the tassel earrings popping up all over the place - especially on Abi's Instagram, but more on that lovely lady later - and decided these would be the ideal stepping stone between my usual teeny tiny earrings and a full tassel affair. The mix of metals means I can wear them regardless of my outfit, bonus!

I've been trying to get back into reading this year, and admittedly, it's been a little slow. But, I have just finished The Note by Zoƫ Folbigg and it was so good! Warm and fluffy, it's been ideal for curling up on these snowy days we've been having. And even better, it's based on a true story. Becoming immersed in a light romance novel that has its ties to reality just sounds ideal to me, giving us all a little hope to be swept off our feet after all.

So far this year, I've done well on the blogging side of life. I've spent time with my blogger friends, attended some fab events and met some amazing new faces in the SotonBloggers crowd. There's nothing that motivates me for my blog more than spending time with other bloggers. There's just something about seeing some of my faves doing some amazing stuff just makes me want to join them! Some of my favourite girls include Charlotte and Tanya with their new designs, Alice especially with all her gorgeous Baby Spake updates, the lovely, motivating Abi... I could go on and on (hint, there's a favourite bloggers post coming real soon!).

The lovely Charlotte
The lovely Tanya
Alice and scrummy Baby Spake
The lovely Abi
So that sums up my favourites for February. What things have you been loving recently?
