My Week In Lipsticks

Today is National Lipstick Day, and in celebration, I thought I would share with you all the lip products I've worn last week. I try and mix up my lip products throughout the week, with a mix of sheers and mattes, brights and nudes, glosses and lipstick. I thought this would be a nice way to see what I'm wearing at the moment, and to let you know about any recent favourites.

Always a tough day for me (I just don't want to get out of my bed), so my makeup is usually pretty simple. It's always just a good old wash of eyeshadow and a nude lip, that I don't have to worry about for the rest of the day. This Monday, I opted for my NYX Butter Gloss in Crème Brûlée - a recommendation from my usual source Ashleigh. This a gorgeous pale pink gloss, with a really good amount of colour pay-off. They're not sticky, which I find with some glosses, and for just £5, they're a bargain!

I went for a new lipstick to get me through Tuesday - one of Urban Decay's new Vice lipsticks. I've got Snitch, one of the sheer finishes, and it's a stunning soft coral orange colour. I love a colour like this in the summer, but it can be difficult to wear something like this at work. This is the perfect alternative, giving me that pop of colour I love, without being too distracting for my work colleagues.

After sporting a bright lip yesterday, I opted for something more neutral, my Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Colour in Washed Seashell. Another recommendation from Ash, who used this for a bridal party, I snapped this up once she let me know what she'd used. It's a stunning pink, with tiny flecks of shimmer, and sits really nicely on the lips. Perfect for those days when I want a nude lip.

Come this time in the week, I need a bold lip to distract from my tired eyes ha! This Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bauhau5 is perfect for the job. The colour is an eye-catching deep raspberry colour, and looks great with a soft bronze eye. And the formula is so incredibly long lasting that I can apply it at 6am and not have to worry about it.

When that Friday feeling hits, and you've got a coffee date scheduled with your bestie, you want a fun lippy. So when rummaging through the contents of my makeup bag, I hooked out another orange favourite - the Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Colour in Orange. The summery weather had me craving all the bright orange lipstick. This lipstick gives off more colour than Urban Decay's Snitch, but still wears nicely and doesn't fade patchy. A recurring favourite.

Saturdays call for more minimal makeup, unless it's for a Girl's Night Out. This week I chose another NYX Butter Gloss, this time in Angel Food Cake. I love this gloss, it's slightly darker, so makes me look like I've made a little more effort than I have ha! I wear this regularly, and I can see I'll have to repurchase this colour again.

Sundays for me, mean no makeup. I wear enough during the week, in my opinion, so I like to give my skin a chance to breath. That doesn't mean I can't look after my lips. I love the Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm for days like this. It gives that tingle that makes you feel like it's working, and sticks around on the lips for a good while. You feel hydrated. Just what I need to prep for the week ahead.

So that's the lip products I wore last week. I hope you enjoyed a sneaky peek into my makeup choices.
