July Beauty Favourites

I haven't done a monthly favourites post in what seems like forever, but as I tried and tested a few new items this month, some of which I completely fell in love with, I thought I'd share some favourite products with you today.

My first favourite this month is a contour palette from L'Oreal Paris. When the Infallible Sculpt Contouring Palette was first released, I was a little apprehensive about trying it. I'm not the world's best contourer, nor am I a great lover of cream products, and this incorporated the two. But I saw countless YouTubers and bloggers rave about this, and thought I'd give it a go - after all what's the worst that could happen right? I am so glad I finally bought this. The colour is a great match for my skin (I picked up 01 Light/Medium), and I am pleasantly surprised at how easy the creams are to use. I just apply a line of contour into the hollows of my cheeks bones, then blend it out with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge - it seems to work well for me.

My next favourite in July has been the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer in Medium Brown. Thanks to my little sister lightening her hair, this brow product was too dark for her, so I was the lucky recipient of a relatively new ABH brow pencil. I never picked one of these up on our Florida holiday, because I was quite content with my Benefit Brow Zings, but I am so glad Libby gifted this to me. It's so easy to use, it blends into my brows beautifully, the colour is just right and my brows don't end up looking too heavy - what more could I ask for? The triangle pencil fits nicely into the shape of your brow, and the spoolie on the other end makes this a really convenient product. Perfect for on the go brows.

Also this month, I fell in love with a drugstore concealer, something I didn't think I would say. Yes, I was a fan of the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer back in the day, but I've been converted to the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer for a long time now, and I didn't think anything could match it. But then I heard about the Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer, and I was intrigued. The cream concealer, featuring a salmon shade for under the eyes and a concealer shade for blemishes, reminded me of similar products I had seen from the likes of Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier. I liked the fact that this one product housed the two things (again with the convenience), as well as a setting powder. I've never really been into setting my undereyes specifically, but where I'm applying more concealer thanks to my 5am wakeup calls, I'm finding setting essential. With this, it's all there in one easy compact, and I don't have to worry. I think it's fab and works well with all my different foundations.

I have a blush favourite this month, something quite unlike me. When John Lewis were on Price Match at the beginning of the month, I snapped up the opportunity to finally get my hands on the Orgasm blush by Nars. This is a cult classic that I have seen everywhere, but never actually picked up for myself. But with it on sale with money off, could I really resist? I am so glad I didn't. This has been on my cheeks most days and goes with almost any makeup look. It's super easy to just throw on,  regardless of what else I'm wearing, and it just finishes off my look. I would definitely recommend picking this up if by some chance you don't already own it, I don't think you'd be disappointed.

And my final favourite this month just sneaks in, as it was the lipstick I wore to Alice's engagement party at the end of the month. Kelly Yum Yum by Mac was a gift from Ash from a while back, but I hadn't really had much opportunity to wear it. When I was doing my makeup for the party on Saturday, it came to mind, and onto the lips it went. And man am I glad I did? I got a ton of compliments on it, and it wore really well. I don't often go for such a pink lip, but maybe in future I should. I felt really bold wearing it, I loved it.

So that's my five stand out beauty products from July. I had to share them with you, they've made my month. What have been some of your favourites for July?
