August Favourites

Somehow, another month has come to an end, and September is upon us. And while I have loved the summery days we've had recently, I'm secretly looking forward to Autumn - the layered clothing and the dark lips. However, there have been some makeup favourites that I've loved throughout August. I've discovered a few new favourites, maintained a few loves, and rediscovered a few golden oldies, and thought I'd share them here today.

Brows have been a firm favourite this month, mostly thanks to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brown Definer in Medium Brown. I really am a fan of these triangular brow crayons, they're the perfect fit into the shape of my natural brow, making it really easy to fill in my brows. The formula of the Brow Definer is quite soft, so it blends beautifully, and I can use it to make the small feathery movements necessary to a good brow. I also love the spoolie on the other end of the pencil. It's actually really good, and being all together makes the brow process so much easier.

I'm sure you'll have seen my blog post on the new Retouching Face Pencils from Bobbi Brown. I raved about them, and my first impression didn't change. The Light pencil has been my favourite out of the two, and I've used it every day I've done my makeup since I bought it. It's the best for combatting those dreaded under eye circles. It's not cakey, warmed on the finger, it blends really well, and works with any of my foundations and my concealer, which is fab. I can see this getting a lot of wear for a long time to come - it's already shrunk quite a bit, how sad!

In my V Festival preparation, I headed into the drugstore to pick up some makeup. I felt the draw of the winged liner, and found myself picking up the Rimmel Scandaleyes felt tip liner, and I fell back in love. The felt tip liner is so easy to use, even in a tent. And since I've been home, it's found its way into my daily makeup routine - I'm blaming Lauren Conrad for the return of the liner. I love rediscovering an old favourite, and I'm sure I'll repurchase soon.

This next product has been a firm favourite since I bought it on holiday back in April - Becca X Jaclyn Hill Highlighter Champagne Pop. I had wanted this for so long, and when I finally got my hands on it, it went straight on my face. And to be honest, I don't think there's been many days when it's not been my highlight of choice. It's my perfect highlight colour, not too golden, not too pink, it's ideal. It's not showing signs of my usage yet, but if and when it runs out, I'll get a new one, for sure.

My final favourite of the month is a lip choice - a nude gloss, not my usual choice. I'd tried NYX Butter Glosses in the past, but when my bestie Ash raved about them this year, I had to give them another go.  For the price tag, they're really good quality, and they have been in my handbag regularly. The colour I've really loved this month has been Tiramisu. This has been my ideal nude, not too pink, not too brown, and it goes with any makeup look. While I was working it was my go-to lip colour, and I'm sure it'll be just as popular when I'm at uni - it's great to just through on, and go!

So they're my August favourites. What products have you been loving this month?
