Supermarine Woolston Waterside | Review

Last month I was lucky enough to be invited for an evening of foodie fun at Vospers in the new Woolston Waterside development - you can read that review here. This month, it was the turn of Supermarine, the latest hotspot for all things pasta and pizza. I jumped at the opportunity and after a long day at work, it was exactly what I needed.

When we arrived, I was instantly taken aback by the authentic Mediterranean feel of the place, with the traditional blue and white tiled decor and the rustic feel of the building itself. It's a far cry from the modern exterior of the building, that's for sure. Now, I've not been to Italy yet, but that Italian feel of the restaurant seems undeniable.

We were shown to our table by the friendly and welcoming staff, and, in true blogger style, we were all off taking as many photos as we could. The Instagram and Snapchat stories were on point for the SotonBloggers that night. I loved the cosy corners of the restaurant, especially these comfy looking armchairs.

Once we'd all caught up with each other and taken our fill of photos, we were given the menu to peruse. We were treated to a tasting session, meaning that indecisive little me didn't have to choose just one dish to try. Instead I got the chance to try multiple dishes - my idea of heaven. Particularly delicious was the Cheesy Garlic Bread, the Spaghetti Carbonara, and the Tiramisu. The chefs at Supermarine make all their pasta from fresh every day, and you can watch the chefs making all the wood-fired pizzas to order. Basically guys, the food was delicious! You could tell that the food was fresh and made with care and attention. We even had the opportunity to make some of our own pizzas - mixing food with having a laugh, just what we wanted from the evening.

I think I speak for all the SotonBloggers when I say that we had a lovely time. We were made to feel very comfortable and were treated to some fantastic food and wine - which just epitomises the motto of Supermarine: Pasta, Pizza & Wine. I can't wait to head back to try out some more food.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the complimentary evening at Supermarine with the SotonBloggers - thank you!
