Selfridges Haul

On a trip to London, it would be impossible for me not to pop into Selfridges. It's one of those stores you can't walk past without stumbling in and having a wander round the Beauty Hall. And obviously, when I popped in, I had to make a purchase or two - and of course, I had to share my purchases with you.

My first call was the bigger beauty counters - I'm always a big fan of having a little nose at the likes of Charlotte Tilbury, Bobbi Brown and Mac. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Huda Beauty had arrived in Selfridges, so I quite clearly had to have a look. I'd lusted over the lip products for so long, so I was in my element swatching all the different colours. In the end, I opted for the Lip Strobe in Angelic.

Now this was a different choice for me. As a general rule, I tend to sway towards a matte lip, but this summer I've been more inclined to try a bit of gloss. The collection of Lip Strobes take gloss to a whole new level. Not just glossy, these are packed with glitter, iridescent shimmer and duo-chrome goodness, that you can wear on its own or over other lip products. I just had to give it a go! I'll admit, it's taking me a little while to get used to, but I can see this becoming a firm favourite, especially for a night out.

Sticking on the lipgloss search, I couldn't believe my eyes when we stumbled across the NYX counter. I've been a big fan of the NYX Butter Glosses - they're affordable, so pigmented and in such a range of colours. Understandably, I was quick to pick up a basket, and soon had more Butter Glosses than anyone could ever need - hard to believe, I know! Once I'd overcome the shock of actually stumbling across a counter, I put a few (okay, maybe a lot) back and came away with four, gorgeous colours.

First up, I knew I had to buy a replacement tube of my all-time favourite NYX Butter Gloss, Angel Food Cake. This is one of my go-to lip colours for day-to-day wear. It's that perfect balance between nude and pink, but slightly on the darker side - it's bound to be an essential throughout the upcoming autumnal months.

Next up, I chose Meringue, a gorgeous pink colour. I don't wear a lot of pink lip products, but this one had a gorgeous purple undertone that I just couldn't resist. I think this will be fab for day-to-day wear, to add a little hint of colour to a simple face of makeup.

Moving along the counter, I picked up the next colour that caught my eye - Peaches and Cream. As the name suggests, this is a gorgeous peachy colour, still on the pink side of things. It's one of those perfect colours for the last days of summer.

My final purchase was perhaps the most daring colour of all, Peach Cobbler. Now this one, despite the name, is definitely more on the orangey red side of things. I forgot until recently how much I love an orangey red lip - it's just so summery! I'll be getting as much wear as possible out of this one for as long as I can!

My final purchase was the Ouai Texturising Spray. The brand was created by Jen Atkin, hairstylist to the Kardashian clan, and I've had my eye on the collection since the beginning. I'd had a sample of one of the shampoos and conditioners, but this time I wanted to try one of the styling products. I'm a big fan of attempting to get those beauty waves in my hair, and with my thin hair, a texturising spray is essential. This one smells delicious and I can't wait to see how it works!

Have you tried any of these products?
