My Travel Beauty Bag

After what feels like a lifetime of waiting, it's almost time for me to fly to the sunnier climes of Tenerife. And part of my excitement for a trip always comes from whittling down my extensive beauty collection to a more acceptable amount of makeup and skincare products that won't weigh my suitcase down too much. Now, I love having a nosey at what other people are packing, so I thought I'd share my picks with you today.

I took this trip as the prime opportunity to buy myself a new beauty bag for travelling. I'd had a little look in a few high street stores when I saw this beauty from H&M. At £14.99, I just couldn't resist this pale blue offering. It's just so spacious, with three different compartments, with plenty of space for a range of products, palettes and brushes. It's also super easy to just wipe clean - ideal for travelling when you might have a spillage or two in transit.

Now, I love using travelling as an excuse to use some of the mini products that I seem to have a tendency to acquire. Whether it's gifted products from event goody bags or products from a special purchase box, I tend to stockpile these products for trips. This time, I've got some Origins products to take with me. I've been really keen to try the Origins GinZing range, and for this trip I have the Refreshing Scrub Cleanser and the Energy-Boosting Moisturiser. The range sounds really fab, so I'm excited to try it. I've fallen back in love with the Origins Original Skin Renewal Serum, so that will be coming with me for my holiday, as well as the Manuka Doctor Eye Oil and this Tea Tree Spot Treatment from The Body Shop for those pesky spots that I'm sure will try to make an appearance. For a night cream, I have a travel size of my old faithful, the Origins Drink-Up Overnight Mask. This has seen me through lots of rough patches with my skin, and I know I can always rely on it. I'm obsessed with the Glossier Balm Dot Com in Birthday Cake, so it's no surprise that that has made its way into my beauty bag. As well as Glossier Birthday Cake, I'll be taking the Carmex Moisture Plus Peach Lip Balm - for those days by the pool when I want a little colour as well as moisture.

My favourite part of this bag will always be the makeup. I love picking out some of my favourite products to see my through my trip.

I seem to have finally cracked my base products (well temporarily at least)! After prepping my skin, I spritz a little Smashbox Primer Water over my skin and then apply the new L'Oreal Infaillable Mattifying Primer. I'm really impressed with this new primer - it helps keep my skin less oily, but it doesn't feel silicone-like at all; it's much more creamier.  Recently, I started using the L'Oreal Infaillable Stick Foundation, and I've been pleasantly surprised. I never imagined that it would be something I would get on with as my skin can really eat through foundation during the day but it's standing the test of time so far. I guess the real test will be when we're in Tenerife. I've been faithful to the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer and the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer and the Rimmel London Insta Fix and Matte Powder, so obviously they're coming with me, as well as my Mac Studio Fix Powder Foundation for days when I want a little less coverage.

Next up, face products. I have a collection of tried and tested products here, that I know work well for me. First up, the Smashbox Contour Kit, which has seen me through multiple holidays. In fact, it was even purchased on the plane home from a trip, so it's only right that it comes along. I have also packed my Hourglass Ambient Lighting bronzer, which I know works for me, as well as Nars Orgasm blush and Benefit Rockateur blush (this was a total steal, for just £5 in Boots recently). If you've followed me for any period of time, you'll know that I love highlight. So it will come as no surprise that I'm taking two: my Glossier Haloscope and Becca X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop. Perfect for that holiday glow.

For brows, I'm currently using the NYX Precision Brow Pencil and the L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper. This tried and tested duo help me to fill in my brows without them looking too fake - perfect!

I love eyeshadow, it's something I love playing around with. I'm taking my Kylie Cosmetics Burgundy Palette, as well as a couple of extra shadows from Bobbi Brown and Urban Decay. The colours are beautiful and I'm excited to see all the coppery and red-toned looks I can come up with. I'm also trying out the L'Oreal Eye Primer and this L'Oreal Eye Paint - I'm excited to see how these work. My mascara of choice for the trip is the L'Oreal Miss Baby Doll Lash - I love this mascara and I'm hoping the waterproof version will stand up against the (hopefully) warm weather in Tenerife.

I have a love of eyeliners - a well-formed wing just fills me with happiness. I'm taking the NYX Epic Tattoo Liner in black, as well as the Bobbi Brown Dual-Ended Liner in Cioccolato and Frizzante. They are well pigmented and easy to work with, so I'm sure they'll both get a lot of use. I also have the Charlotte Tilbury Rock N Kohl in Bedroom Black and the Copper Infaillable Gel Pencil from L'Oreal.

Now, my favourite - lip products! I have tried my best to limit these to the bare minimum, albeit there still being a fair few. I have the Millie Mackintosh lip liner, to wear with the L'Oreal Colour Riche Shine lipstick in 642 #MLBB. I have also picked the Urban Decay Sheer Rapture lipstick, this gorgeous coral-toned YSL lipstick, and the Bobbi Brown Nourishing Lip Colour in Pink Pop.

I have chosen to take the Mac Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick in Fashion Legacy as my token red lip for this trip, as well as the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Beloved. For gloss, I'm taking the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Extreme Plump gloss in clear, and the Huda Beauty Lip Strobe in Angelic - I love the effect this has on whatever lip product I'm wearing.

When it comes to brushes, I'm pretty faithful to Real Techniques and have been for a few years now. The brushes, created by Sam and Nic Chapman from the YouTube channel Pixiwoo, are fantastic quality for a reasonable price. I've got a brush for every possible need, be it face or eyes. My favourite brushes are these unfortunately limited edition eye brushes, and my fan brush from the Brush Crush collection - I mean how gorgeous are they, apart from anything else?

So, that's the entirety of my travel beauty bag. I'm hoping this will mean that I have covered all bases when I'm away. Stay tuned to my Instagram for photos from my trip, to see what I end up wearing.

Have you got any sunshine trips booked for this year?
